About Us - True North Outreach Foundation
Serving Those Who Served. Shaping Those Who Will.
True North Outreach Foundation (TNOF) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Findlay, Ohio, dedicated to strengthening communities through mentorship, leadership development, and emotional wellness. We fill the gaps left by traditional systems, ensuring no veteran is left behind and no student is left without guidance.
Our mission is twofold:
-
Empower veterans with peer-led support and employment opportunities that restore purpose and dignity.
-
Equip schools with leadership tools that build resilience from the inside out.
Through free programs in Northwest Ohio, TNOF hires and trains veterans to mentor fellow service members, navigate housing and benefits, and lead reintegration and wellness workshops. In schools, we deliver motivational talks, assemblies, and staff trainings rooted in our “I Am” philosophy and Four Pillars—Forgiveness, Gratitude, Love, and Faith.
When veterans find purpose and students find direction, communities grow stronger.

Alex Hall – Director of Veteran Peer Mentor | True North Outreach Foundation
Born in Danville, Illinois, Alex Hall grew up in a proud military family. His father, a U.S. Marine, instilled in him a deep respect for service and sacrifice. Childhood with the Marine Corps meant frequent relocations, and in 1987, Alex’s family settled in Ohio when he was just six years old.
A graduate of Findlay High School, Alex followed in his father’s footsteps of service by enlisting in the U.S. Army in 2002. Serving for five years as a Petroleum Supply Specialist in aviation divisions, Alex ensured critical refueling operations that kept missions moving. His first duty station took him overseas to Korea, and in 2004–2005, he completed a combat tour in Iraq, supporting operations in a high-intensity environment.
Alex’s dedication, adaptability, and commitment to his fellow soldiers remain central to his life today. Through the True North Outreach Foundation, he brings his firsthand military experience, operational discipline, and passion for helping others into his role leading the group as a Veteran Peer Mentor, walking alongside other veterans as they navigate life after service.
"My mission was once to protect this country from enemies abroad. Now it is to defend it from the enemies within." - Alex Hall
